When community groups get hijacked by difficult dynamics

Our neighborhood book club started as this lovely monthly gathering but it's slowly become dominated by two people who turn every discussion into arguments about politics, while the rest of us just want to talk about the actual books. Half the original members have quietly stopped coming and those of us left don't know how to address it without making it worse.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A group is losing its original purpose because they lack tools for addressing behavior that serves some members while alienating others.
