When community projects develop hidden hierarchies

Our neighborhood started a community garden three years ago and it was amazing the first year, but now there are these unspoken cliques and territorial issues about who gets which plots, and the original enthusiasm has turned into this weird passive-aggressive thing. Half the plots aren't even being maintained anymore.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A shared endeavor meant to bring people together has become a site of exclusion and competition, but no one wants to name what everyone can see.
