Our neighborhood used to feel like a real community but after the pandemic and some families moving away it's like we're all strangers who wave at each other and I know other people have noticed too but nobody seems to know how to bridge back to actually caring about each other's lives. The old ways of connecting don't work anymore but we haven't figured out new ones.
More people experience this than they realize.
A community has lost its sense of shared life and everyone is waiting for someone else to take the risk of reaching across the new distance.
