When friend groups drift apart after children leave the nest

Our whole friend group used to revolve around our kids' activities and now that they're all grown up we keep making plans that fall through and nobody wants to admit that maybe we don't actually have that much in common anymore. We're all being polite about it but there's this sadness underneath that we're not talking about.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A community built around shared parenting must reckon with whether deeper bonds exist when the scaffolding of child-centered connection is removed.
