When parents navigate adult children's diverse spiritual paths and family connection

My adult children have very different relationships with the faith tradition we raised them in—one is still practicing, one is openly hostile to it, and one just seems indifferent—and when we're all together there's this careful avoidance of anything that might touch on meaning or values. I want us to be able to talk about what matters most to each of us, but I don't know how to bridge these distances without someone feeling judged or dismissed.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

The longing to know and be known by those we love most collides with the fear that our deepest truths might drive us apart.
