Scenario

When parents and adult children have different faith perspectives

My adult kids think our family's religious traditions are outdated but they still come to holiday gatherings where those traditions are central and we're all just pretending everything is fine while the elephant in the room gets bigger. I want to make space for who they've become but I don't know how to do that without betraying what I believe.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A family learns that love requires them to create space for both honoring what has been sacred and blessing what is becoming sacred, even when these point in different directions.
