When family crisis reveals conflicting spiritual needs

My dad is dying and he wants the family to pray together but my brother is an atheist and gets visibly uncomfortable and my mom keeps pushing everyone to participate for dad's sake. We're all trying to love dad well but we're hurting each other in the process and I don't know how to hold space for everyone's beliefs while time is running out.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Approaching death can intensify spiritual urgency while exposing the fault lines of different beliefs within families seeking to love across the divide.
