When adult children leave the family faith

My daughter came home from college saying she doesn't believe in God anymore and my husband thinks we failed as parents and I think maybe she's finding her own way to the truth and we're all tiptoeing around each other instead of actually talking about what matters most to each of us. The dinner table has become a minefield of topics we avoid and I can feel us growing distant when we should be growing closer.
