When religious study groups become laboratories for faith struggles

My study group at synagogue includes someone who converted and someone who's questioning their faith and someone who's become more observant and me somewhere in the middle, and our discussions about the texts have become mirrors for our different relationships with belief itself. It's gotten tense in ways that surprise all of us and I don't know if we should address it directly or just focus on the studying.
