Our interfaith family has always tried to honor everyone's traditions during holidays but this year our teenage daughter announced she doesn't believe in any of it and our attempts to include her while still maintaining our own practices have devolved into arguments about authenticity versus accommodation. We want to respect her journey while not abandoning our own, but every holiday conversation ends in hurt feelings all around.
