When spiritual practice groups become complicated

Our meditation group started as five friends who wanted to sit together once a week and now it's become this thing where people have strong opinions about techniques and teachers and what we should be reading and I can feel us losing the simple thing we came for. The silence that used to feel spacious now feels tense and I don't know if we're growing into something better or falling apart.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Sacred simplicity gives way to the human tendency to complicate what was once effortlessly shared.
