When informal spiritual groups outgrow their simplicity

Our meditation group started as friends sitting together in silence but now some people want teachers and structure and others want to keep it simple and informal and we can't even agree on whether to have a conversation about it. The thing that brought us together - just being present with each other - feels like it's being pulled apart by good intentions.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

The very success of shared practice creates pressures that threaten the organic intimacy that made it sacred.
