Our small church is slowly emptying as people leave for larger congregations or lose faith entirely and those of us who remain are trying to decide whether to keep meeting or acknowledge that this chapter is over. We love each other but we're not sure love is enough to sustain a spiritual community when the shared vision is fracturing.
More people experience this than they realize.
A community must discern whether their bonds of affection can sustain spiritual practice when their shared sense of purpose has eroded.
