When Sufi communities split over a teacher's spiritual direction

Our tariqa is fracturing because some of us believe our shaykh has moved too far from traditional practices into what feels like spiritual bypassing, while others see this as his natural evolution as a guide. The sohbet gatherings that used to feel like coming home now carry this undercurrent of judgment and whispered concerns, and I don't know if we can hold the container together.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Sacred community requires trust in guidance, but when that guidance becomes questionable, the very foundation of collective practice begins to dissolve.
