When faith groups split over questioning and doubt

We've been leading this Bible study group for three years and lately we're all asking harder questions about scripture than we used to, questions that don't have clean answers, and some people want to go deeper while others think we're losing our way. I can feel the group pulling apart between those who want to wrestle with doubt as part of faith and those who see doubt as dangerous, and I don't know how to hold space for both without losing what we've built together.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A community faces the tension between intellectual honesty and spiritual security, where deeper inquiry threatens group cohesion but avoiding it feels like betrayal of growth.
