How to reconnect with indigenous roots when you feel like an outsider

I'm half-Quechua and grew up in Lima, and now at 35 I'm trying to learn the ceremonies my father's family practices but I feel like a tourist in my own heritage. Everyone is kind but I can tell they see me as the city kid who doesn't really belong.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Cultural displacement has created a painful gap between ancestral identity and lived experience, generating shame about authentic belonging.
