When business founders disagree on addressing their role in displacement

My co-founder and I built our startup in a predominantly Black neighborhood that's now gentrifying partly because of businesses like ours, and we disagree on whether paying higher taxes to longtime residents constitutes meaningful reparations or just performs virtue while continuing harm. We're both struggling with the contradiction between our impact and our intentions.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Two people must grapple with whether good intentions can justify harmful outcomes and what genuine accountability looks like.
