My husband and I are fighting about our teenage daughter's college plans because she wants to take a gap year to work on inequality issues but he thinks that's a luxury we can afford that other families can't and therefore irresponsible. I think he's right about the privilege part but wrong about what that means we should do and our daughter is caught in the middle.
