When couples disagree about spending for children's opportunities

My partner wants to buy a house in the 'good' school district even though it means being house poor, and I think our kids would be fine in our current neighborhood. We're not really arguing about schools though - we're arguing about whether trying to give our kids advantages means we have to live beyond our means and pretend to be people we're not.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Parents are wrestling with how much financial sacrifice and identity compromise is warranted to provide class advantages for their children.
