When couples disagree about school fundraising and educational inequality

My wife and I are arguing about our neighborhood school because she wants to get involved in fundraising to improve it but I think that just creates more inequality between schools that have parents with money and those that don't. We both care about our kid's education and about fairness but we can't figure out how to do both.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Individual parental responsibility and systemic educational equity can work against each other, forcing impossible choices between helping your own child and avoiding harm to others.
