I can land the client — why does the case overwhelm me?

You shake the client's hand and the work feels light. Then the file grows — documents, deadlines, other people's questions — and the weight lands on you alone. You start dropping threads you never meant to drop. This is not because you are careless. It is because no one built a place for the threads to live. Ask yourself: what happens to this case the day after the meeting? If the answer is 'I remember it,' you have no system — you have a hope. A team that shares the carry needs shared ground: one place for status, one owner for each task, one time each week to check the load. Build that ground before the next case arrives, not during it. You cannot control how many cases land on your desk. You can control whether your pod meets them with a method or with memory. Choose the method. Assign it. Then hold each other to it — not out of politeness, but because the client's trust depends on it.
