Knowledge + Guidance

The machine tracks my hours now. Do I fight it or learn it?

You climb into a cab that logs your hours automatically. Dispatch sends you a route the system picked, not a person. Soon the truck itself may make decisions you used to make. That is not a theory. That is Tuesday. Resentment feels like strength, but it is not. It lets you avoid studying the thing, while telling yourself you stand on principle. Confusion feels safer than admitting you have not learned the system that now watches you work. Here is the plain truth. You cannot vote the technology out of your cab. You can choose to understand it, test it, and find where your judgment still beats its code. That is the only ground left to defend. Defend it with knowledge, not complaint.

Half of this problem is not knowing how the systems actually work; the other half is resentment sitting on top of that ignorance — both need direct attention.

What’s really going on

You do not get to vote on whether the machine arrives. It is already in your cab. The only choice left is whether you understand it or stay ignorant and call that resistance. Learn what it tracks, what it decides, and what it still cannot do. Then you will know where you stand.

A moveSpend thirty minutes this week reading your ELD's actual manual, not the complaint thread.
A moveWrite down three tasks the routing system does better than you, and three it still gets wrong.
A moveAsk a dispatcher or trainer one direct question: how does the system choose this route over another?
A movePick one shift and let the AI's suggestion run without arguing with it. Watch what actually happens.
A moveSeparate 'I don't understand this' from 'I don't like this.' Answer each one on its own.

What changes unlock by starting

  • You stop mistaking resentment for understanding.
  • You know exactly what the system tracks and what it cannot see.
  • You find the specific places your judgment still beats the machine's.
  • You can discuss the technology at work without your anger doing the talking.
One object, two jobs: a public answer to a real problem, and — the moment you start the chat — Aurelius’s live plan for your version of it.
