There's AI in the ELD, the routing, even the truck. Now what?

You did not choose this machine. It showed up in your log, in your dispatch, in your cab. You can resent it, pretend it isn't there, or learn what it actually does. Only one of those options changes your position. Your crew feels the same thing. Some joke about it, some go quiet, some quit rather than touch it. None of that teaches you why the routing decides your route or what the ELD flags. Only study does that. Sit with your team and ask what the system actually tracks, not what you assume it tracks. Most resentment is fear wearing a disguise. Pull the mask off together, and you will find a tool, not a verdict on your worth.

The resentment is cured by action, not more facts, but you cannot act on what you refuse to understand, so a steady dose of plain explanation must come first.

What’s really going on

You do not get to vote on whether the machine arrives. You get to vote on what you do with your hands today. Learn the system in front of you—this week, not someday. Resentment burns your hours; understanding spends them. Choose the one that pays you back.

A moveList every AI tool you touch this week—ELD, routing app, cab alerts—and write one line on what each actually does.
A moveAsk one dispatcher or engineer to explain, in plain words, how the routing software picks your route.
A moveBring your pod together and say out loud what each person resents about the system, then test it against one fact.
A movePick one feature you dismissed as surveillance and use it on purpose for a week; write down what you learn.
A moveTeach your crew one thing you learned about the system every week, so understanding spreads faster than resentment.

What changes unlock by starting

  • You can name, in plain words, what the ELD and routing AI actually track and why.
  • Your resentment turns into specific questions instead of vague anger.
  • Your pod trades rumor for shared, tested facts about the tech.
  • You act faster on the job because you stop wasting energy fighting a machine you don't understand.
One object, two jobs: a public answer to a real problem, and — the moment you start the chat — Aurelius’s live plan for your version of it.
