What do I do when there's no playbook to follow?
You followed the steps. They worked. Then the steps ran out, and you stood still, waiting for someone to hand you the next one. That is not weakness. You were trained to execute, not to decide. Nobody showed you how to choose when nothing is written down. So you treat the gap as proof you're not ready, instead of proof you've finally reached the real work. The playbook was training. This — deciding with no one to check your answer — is the job itself. You can learn it. You start by doing it, not by waiting until you feel qualified.
Build the path yourself. You don't need a manual to take the next step — you need to look at what's actually in front of you, decide what matters most, and act on that alone. Nobody taught you this because it isn't taught. It's practiced, badly, until it isn't.
