Why am I always the one who has to chase people for money?
You say you can collect from almost anyone. That is a skill, not a sentence to serve. Somewhere along the way, the group decided your skill meant your duty — and your duty became permanent. No one forced this on you for life. You let it happen. Maybe you were good at it. Maybe no one else wanted it. Maybe it was easier than the conversation about changing it. That is still a choice, even if it did not feel like one at the time. The weariness you feel is not proof that you are weak. It is proof the arrangement needs to change. Change what is within your power — the agreement, the rotation, the system. Do not wait for your team to notice your fatigue and fix it for you. They will not.
You are tired, not trapped. You chose this task, or let it fall to you, and now you act as if it is fixed. It is not. Name it as a shared duty. Assign it. Rotate it. Build a rule that removes you from the asking. The weight stays yours only because you keep carrying it.
What changes unlock by starting
- A written rotation or rule for who collects money, agreed on by the group.
- At least one billing cycle completed by someone other than you.
- A reusable script that removes reliance on your personal skill.
- Less resentment, because the task is shared, not yours by default.
