You believe you're just not a creative person

This belief that you are simply not creative has quietly closed a door in you, and I would like to help you see it is not locked. Creativity is human capacity, not a rare type of person — every human being makes, imagines, combines, and solves in creative ways, doing it constantly in ordinary life without naming it, so the notion of creative people as a separate breed you are not among is a false division that has convinced many capable makers they lack what they possess. The belief usually comes from an early discouragement — it often traces to a criticism, a comparison, a mocked effort, after which you concluded you lacked the gift and stopped trying, so look for the root, for a wound is not a fact about your capacity and the discouragement that convinced you can be set down. And test the belief by making one small thing — you cannot argue your way out of it, only make your way out, so create one modest thing to gather evidence against the label, repeated until your own making overturns it.
