You can't stop comparing yourself to everyone
You measure yourself against everyone — their success, their looks, their lives — and always come up wanting. Every scroll, every conversation feeds it, and the comparing never stops or satisfies. It steals your contentment and leaves you feeling perpetually behind, no matter what you actually have or achieve.
This habit is exhausting and it runs on errors we can expose. First, comparison measures your inside against their outside — your full known reality against others' polished surfaces — so it is rigged from the start, and what feels like the truth that they are doing better is usually just what you know of yourself against the little you are shown of them. Second, the comparing mind can never be satisfied, because there is always someone further ahead; it is a game structured so no one finally measures up, and the only escape is to stop playing. Third, return to your own path and your own measure — the distance between where you are and your own considered aims — and limit the streams of curated surfaces that feed the weighing. Your life is yours to measure. Who or what do you find yourself comparing against most?
