Creative courage and vulnerability

To make something true is to leave evidence of your inner life in a place where others may pass by and judge it, misread it, or not read it at all — and courage in creative work is not the absence of that knowledge but the willingness to proceed in full awareness of it. The vulnerability is not separate from the craft; it is the seam through which the genuine enters. Without it, the work is skilled but not alive.
