The post-human question

The post-human asks: what is essentially human, and is any of it inviolable? If nothing is inviolable — if every feature of human being can be upgraded, replaced, or transcended — then the question of what we are trying to preserve in our ethics and politics becomes urgent. The post-human is not a distant speculation; it is the direction the current questions are already pointing.
