I can follow a tutorial. Why does the real problem scare me?

You followed the steps. The data was clean, the question was already picked, and the answer was already known by whoever wrote the lesson. You finished it. That part was never the hard part. Now your team hands you a real problem. No one tells you what the model should predict, or whether the data even answers the question. You freeze. You call this fear of the tool. It is not. It is fear of deciding. Every real problem asks someone to choose what matters, what to ignore, and what "good enough" means. Tutorials hide that choice from you. Real work does not — and your pod is waiting for someone to make it.
