Should I be scared that AI can now make video for me?

You have two excuses ready. One: this is nothing, a toy, beneath your skill. Two: this will take your work, so why bother learning it. Notice both excuses do the same job. They let you avoid opening the tool. What is in your power is not the trend. It is your own hand on the thing today. You can learn what it does badly and what it does well within an hour, not a year of opinions. Until you do that, you are arguing about a ghost. Stop deciding from a distance. Decide from your own test. That is the only honest position available to you.

A person needs a little orientation on what these tools actually do, but the real work is breaking the habit of avoiding the tool through fear or dismissal.

What’s really going on

Fear is not a plan, and neither is scorn. Open the tool this week and make one small thing with it. Either it replaces work you can now stop doing by hand, or it fails at what you feared. You cannot know which until you try. Choose to find out.

A moveOpen one AI video or caption tool this week. Make a thirty-second clip before you judge it.
A moveList the three tasks in your work that eat the most hours. Run one through the tool.
A moveWrite down exactly where the tool failed you. That failure is now useful information, not proof you were right to fear it.
A moveStop giving opinions about AI in meetings until you have used it with your own hands.
A moveSet one hour a week, no more, to test a new tool. Keep it small so you keep doing it.

What changes unlock by starting

  • You know, from your own hands, what the tool can and cannot do
  • You stop burning energy on fear or on scorn, both of which were costing you nothing useful
  • You have a short, real list of tasks worth handing to the machine
  • You speak about AI from experience, not from rumor or dread
One object, two jobs: a public answer to a real problem, and — the moment you start the chat — Aurelius’s live plan for your version of it.
