Why do some of my reps still frustrate me even though I coach them?
You have learned to coach. Good. But now you sit across from a rep who nods, agrees, and does the same thing next week. Or one who tries hard and still misses the number. The frustration feels earned — like proof you are right to be angry. Look closer at what you are actually asking for. You want a guarantee. You want your coaching to produce a result you do not control — someone else's choice to change, someone else's skill to close deals. No method delivers that. Not yours, not anyone's. This is not a reason to stop coaching them. It is a reason to stop measuring yourself by what was never yours to measure.
Your frustration is not proof you are failing. It is proof you still expect your coaching to control another person's will. You cannot make a rep change. You cannot make a rep close. You can only control what you say, how you teach, and whether you stay calm. Judge yourself by that.
What changes unlock by starting
- You stop carrying home frustration that was never yours to fix.
- You coach with more patience, because you expect less control, not more.
- You make faster, clearer decisions about which reps are worth more of your time.
- You start judging your own work by your effort, not by their results.
