How do we land brand deals that pay what we're worth?

You tell yourselves the problem is exposure, or reach, or finding the right brand. It is not. The problem is what happens in the room. The offer is lower than you hoped. The brand is bigger than you expected. Money loosens the grip on your own judgment. You feel the deal slipping away and you tell yourself the number does not matter so much. This is not flexibility. This is forgetting, in the moment of pressure, what you decided when you were calm. Fix this before you negotiate, not during. Decide together, in writing, what you will not accept. Then let the brand meet that line, or walk.

The facts of a fair deal are simple to list; holding the line under pressure is the hard part, so coaching leads.

What’s really going on

You do not need a better pitch. You need a number you will not move from before the call begins. Write your floor down together, before any brand is on the line. The deal that tempts you to abandon it was never the deal to take.

A moveWrite your floor number down, together, before any brand reaches out — then do not reopen it mid-negotiation.
A moveSay the walk-away line out loud in front of the whole group, so no one can quietly lower it alone later.
A moveAssign one person per call whose only job is to notice the moment the deal drifts from your terms.
A moveWait 24 hours before answering any offer — urgency is the brand's tool, not yours.
A moveKeep a shared record of past offers and outcomes, so you negotiate from evidence, not memory.

What changes unlock by starting

  • You stop guessing your worth and start naming it with a number you agreed on in advance.
  • You catch yourselves before you give up ground you meant to hold.
  • You negotiate from a written record, not from hope.
  • You turn down bad deals faster, with less doubt, because the line was drawn before the pressure arrived.
One object, two jobs: a public answer to a real problem, and — the moment you start the chat — Aurelius’s live plan for your version of it.
