You feel powerless against injustice too big to fight
You see a great injustice — vast, entrenched, systemic — and you feel utterly powerless against it. You alone cannot end it, and its sheer size makes your efforts feel pointless, so you are left despairing, wanting to act but frozen by the hopeless gap between the enormity of the wrong and your own small ability to affect it.
I faced injustices far larger than one person could end, so I understand this particular despair — and its false premise. You are not required to fix the whole injustice — the demand you place on yourself, solve it entirely or do nothing, is a false one that guarantees paralysis, for great wrongs are undone not by single heroes but by many each doing their portion, so release yourself from the impossible standard. Do the part that is within your reach — the one person you can help, the wrong you can name, the corner you can touch, which is not surrender but the only way anyone acts against the vast, and a great wrong is eroded by the accumulation of many small refusals. And you are stronger joined to others than alone — your powerlessness comes partly from facing it isolated, so seek allies and add your effort to theirs, for powerlessness is largely the condition of the isolated. What injustice makes you feel most powerless?
