You've lost touch with what your body is asking for

You have lost touch with what your body is actually asking for — whether you are hungry or just bored, tired or wired, needing movement or rest. The signals are muffled or ignored, and you make choices for your body without consulting it, having long stopped listening to what it tells you.

What’s really going on

Come, let us turn back toward the quiet voice you stopped hearing. The signals are not gone; they are unheard, and hearing can be relearned — hunger and fatigue and restlessness still arrive faithfully, but you stopped listening long enough that they grew faint under habit and overriding, and a sense dulled by neglect grows sharp again with use, so you are not broken, only out of practice. Pause before you answer the body, and ask what it actually is — the disconnection lives in the speed, the hand reaching for food before anyone asks if this is hunger, so place a small pause in the gap between signal and response and ask plainly, am I hungry or bored, tired or wired, needing to move or to rest, not yet to obey the answer but simply to hear it. And trust the body enough to sometimes give it what it asks — the body learns you are listening when you sometimes act on what you hear, so honour the true signal often enough that the channel clears and it begins to speak plainly again, the way one talked-over speaks up on finding they are finally heard. When did you last pause to ask your body what it actually wanted?
