When a team or group is burning out together
You are a group — a team, a family, a set of people carrying something together — and you are all burning out. Everyone is depleted, running on empty, and it is dragging down the work and the wellbeing of the whole group. You want to face the burnout together and find a way back.
Facing burnout together is far more powerful than each suffering it alone, and three things guide it. First, name the burnout out loud, together — it usually stays unspoken, each person privately assuming they alone are failing, so simply saying we are all running on empty breaks the isolation and the false story of personal weakness. Second, find what is actually driving the depletion — the pace, the unclear demands, the lack of recovery — because a group can diagnose these better and, crucially, has more power to change them together than any one person alone. Third, protect recovery and each other as a shared commitment, guarding rest and watching for the one sliding toward collapse. A group that refills together and looks out for each other outlasts one that burns each member down alone. What's emptying you all?
