You feel spiritually stuck and not growing

You feel spiritually stuck — stalled, not growing, stagnant after a time when you were deepening. Your practices feel like they have stopped working, you sense no movement or development, and you fear you have plateaued permanently or lost the growth you once had. You long to grow again but do not know how to get unstuck.

What’s really going on

This sense of being stalled after a time of deepening is familiar to every serious seeker, and it rarely means what you fear. Plateaus are part of growth, not its absence — all real growth proceeds in a rhythm of advance and plateau, spurts of deepening followed by long level stretches where consolidation quietly happens, so your stuckness is likely a normal phase, the time when what you gained settles and prepares the next advance, not a permanent halt. You may be outgrowing the practices that once served you — the prayers or disciplines that brought growth before may have taken you as far as they can, so the stuckness may be a signal to seek new or deeper practices suited to where you now are, rather than continuing the old ones by rote. And growth may be happening in ways you cannot yet see — much spiritual growth is invisible while it occurs, underground in the roots before it shows, so the times that feel most stuck are sometimes when the deepest quiet growth is happening, and you may be growing precisely when you cannot tell. Be patient, seek new practices, trust the unseen. How long have you felt stuck?
