You're too tired to enjoy anything

You are so exhausted that nothing feels enjoyable anymore — even the things that should be fun feel like too much effort, and you have no energy left to actually enjoy anything. You drag through your days depleted, and joy feels like a luxury you are simply too tired to reach, no matter how much you might want it.

What’s really going on

Too tired to enjoy anything — this is not a joy problem at all, and knowing that changes everything. Joy runs on energy you no longer have — a depleted person experiences even pleasure as effort, having nothing left to feel it with, so this is exhaustion wearing a joy problem's clothes, and you are not broken or joyless, only so tired the machinery of delight has gone dim for lack of fuel. Rest first; the joy returns with the energy — the cure is not more fun but real, sufficient rest that refills the tank, after which the capacity for joy returns on its own, for you cannot draw water from a dry well. And look at what is draining you dry — tend not only the tiredness but its causes, the overwork or over-giving or lost sleep, so the tank does not simply empty again; and if the exhaustion resists all rest, a good doctor is worth seeing, for a tiredness rest cannot touch may be more than tiredness. What is draining you so completely?
